Hi Everyone!
We hope that you have had a great start to the new year and enjoyed all the festive fun over Christmas. We were very busy promoting ImagineCreate over the Christmas period by creating an ImagineCreate Christmas Special Poem! Our video's on our Facebook Page were well visited, and we gathered lots of interest and positive comments from all around the world! Our videos were watched in the USA and in China, so we are pretty pleased about that! Our main aim is to support children and adults in becoming confident, and build up self-esteem. Our children's workshops inspire and bring children together from all walks of life, and we are really happy when they leave us saying "I loved drawing that picture", and "I'm going to give that a go at school!" - Confidence building at its finest! We are offering some Taster Sessions in the New Year (February Half Term) so please do bring your child along if you are intrigued by what we do. We are on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and Twitter now, and during February we are sharing some of the children's Awesome Art Work each day. It really is fantastic and the Big Reveal is still our favourite part of the workshop! Please visit our pages and like and follow us to see this amazing work! (*Click on the links below to find them!) Keep coming back to the website for more updates and we will see you all very soon! We are so excited to share the news with you that at ImagineCreate we have created a YouTube channel that everyone can access! We believe so strongly in what we are trying to achieve that we want EVERY child to be able to take part!
Our first poem that you can take part in will be a Halloween Special! We will be posting it on Saturday 29th October 2016. Please click here to find out more and don't forget to post your pictures on our Facebook page once you have completed them! Happy Halloween everyone! Lets get sharing the ImagineCreate vibe around the country! (and maybe even beyond!) The fétes and festival season is almost upon us and at ImagineCreate we are very excited as we will be attending lots of events over the coming months. We love all-sorts of creativity and really embrace all the opportunities that children have to develop their imagination and skills in this area, whether it be through drama, sports, dance, hands on art work - these are all great activities and bring lots of fun and happy times! If you are holding a Village Féte or a Festival with a Children's area then please get in touch with us as we would love to get involved. We offer another fun and unique way to develop children's confidence and self-esteem. If you have any questions please contact us via our contact form below. . Keep visiting our blog so we can keep you up to date with where we will be, and don't forget we are also running two children's workshops at Marchwood C of E Infant School in the May Half Term. We'd love to see your children there! Click on 'Find a workshop' for more details. Yesterday we ran our last children’s Easter holiday workshop and yet again we had a great time supporting and watching the children grow in confidence in such a short amount of time. Many of the children didn't know each other and when they arrived they were a little apprehensive to join in, but as soon as the play dough came out and we started getting to know each other a little bit, there was lots of creative thinking and laughter taking place. It helps to find a common interest at times like this and talking about The Good Dinosaur definitely broke the ice! (Although I haven’t seen it, but I now know what happens at the end!)
We created all sorts of items with play-dough in this workshop including a sunshine (a common choice we have found in our workshops!) a tiger, a train and a rocket travelling to the moon! One of our workshop participants brought along his monkey who played an integral part in his models! We then moved onto the poem, again travelling to the beach and we were amazed by the different pictures that were shown in the Big Reveal. Sharing ideas is great and looking at other peers work gives the children inspiration to gain the confidence to try something new. There was a lot of positive feedback and some great praise taking place! Throughout all of our Easter Workshops we have seen lots of children grow in confidence, to talk to unfamiliar adults and children in a different environment. Although at first they are not sure what to expect from our workshop, the end result is always very, very positive and they leave buzzing from the experience. The art work that has been produced has blown us away! It is a pleasure to be a part of sharing the enjoyment that children have in putting their own ideas down on paper in a calm, relaxing and supportive environment, where they can then share these ideas confidently without feeling any pressure. Well done to all our Easter Superstars! We hope to see you again in May when we will be running some more children’s workshops. Today we ran our first Easter Workshop and it was simply brilliant!
At ImagineCreate we were wondering whether our aim of supporting children to develop their confidence and self-esteem would be as effective with only two children in our workshop session. We are pleased to report that without a doubt, the aim was achieved ten fold! Our two superstars came into the session and were amazing. They didn't know each other, but through talking to each other and getting creative with Lego and paper they didn't stop talking! There was a lot of laughter when we had to create sun-shines, castles, ice-creams and rockets - counting down from 5 to blast them off! When it came to creating the drawings to poetry, the amazing end results were very different, with each person interpreting the poem in their own unique way. The grown ups even had a go which made it more interesting too! The 'Big Reveal' was yet again so much fun. We each took it in turns to describe our pictures and everybody said something that was their favourite part, making it a very worthwhile, positive experience. We can't wait for the next workshop and wonder what creative and imaginative minds will arrive next week! What a fantastic week we've had! We ran a couple of children's workshops this week and the children who attended were fantastic! In a short amount of time we watched them grow in confidence and feel really proud of their work.
The workshops began with creating objects and things with paper! It's great to watch children using their imaginations to create a cat, or a butterfly, or even a rocket out of a single piece of paper. Everyone had a different idea and there were so many positive comments, and words of encouragement and advice being used when making these random objects, it was great to listen to. It was a lot of fun and as always we shared lots of laughter too! When it came to sharing the poem with the children, it was by far our favourite bit of the workshop. The workshop leader read the whole poem aloud, whilst the children closed their eyes to picture the scene. Next they drew the images that they visualised whilst the poem was read again, this time read out line by line to allow time for the children's creativity to develop. There were moments when we heard some of the children say "I can't draw that", and "mine isn't going to be good". As trained professionals we were able to act on this quickly by supporting and encouraging the children to have a go, using positive words of advice and encouragement to bring their confidence back quickly. 'The Big Reveal' proved as popular as ever, with everyone eager to share their work and see what other peers had drawn. It was a joy to watch this moment, with lots of praise being used. Yet again, we were astounded by the children's Awesome Artwork. After the workshop we had lots of positive feedback from the parents of the children who attended, some of the comments included: "Thank you so much for the inspiring workshop today. My son has come out and has not stopped talking about what a great time he had and looking forward to the next time x" "The girls had a brilliant time... Thank you so much," "Oliver's words... "I want to go back!"...Thank you for giving him a brilliant time!" It has been an awesome start to our little venture so far. We can't wait to welcome the children back who attended these workshops, and we can't wait to welcome new faces too! Please continue to spread the word about our unique workshops and if you have any questions don't hesitate to get in contact. Last night we visited a Brownie Group and had a great time! When we turned up with a toadstool and a ream of paper, they all wondered what was going on! We kept them in suspense until we began the first activity. (It's amazing what can happen with a single piece of paper!) The girls soon started getting creative and sharing ideas with each other. They were using great positive praise and complimenting each others work. They thought it was a bit strange to sit at a table with their work hidden, but as soon as they understood 'The Big Reveal' they were excited to create their unique poem's picture. At ImagineCreate we share all of the poem first so the children can begin to visualise and picture the scene... We then slowly read it out again, line by line, so they can let their creativity in drawing flow! We were astounded by the outcome and how the girls worked well together. Even the girls who were unsure of their abilities left with a sense of achievement! We even heard them saying "I feel really proud of my work!" and "I want to do that again!" Below is a snippet of the poem we shared and their great creations. As I look out of the window what do I see Some toadstools in a garden and some fairies in a tree Two owls are in the branches and are watching all around They see three girls are laughing and are standing hand in hand... (Written by E.Gant) Can you spot these objects in their drawings? What other words do you think we used in the poem?
